Dr. Christopher Fisher, a Yamaha Artist, is Professor of Piano at Ohio University, where he co-chairs the Keyboard Division and directs acclaimed undergraduate and graduate piano performance and pedagogy programs. Recognized for his teaching, Dr. Fisher received the 2010 Ohio Music Teachers Association Collegiate Teacher of the Year Award and the Ohio University School of Music Distinguished Teaching Award. He authored "Teaching Piano in Groups" (Oxford University Press, 2010) and co-authored several other significant piano pedagogy texts. Dr. Fisher's compositions are featured in Piano Safari, used globally.
An esteemed workshop clinician, Dr. Fisher has presented lectures worldwide and performed in solo and collaborative recitals. He is an active member of Music Teachers National Association and serves as Collegiate Chapter Chair at Ohio University. Dr. Fisher, a Missouri native, earned his degrees from Wichita State University and Northwest Missouri State University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Oklahoma. He resides in Albany, Ohio, with his wife Katherine and their children Isaiah and Anna.
