Anthology of Ten Ohio Composers 2026 MTNA 150th Anniversary

This project seeks to honor ten teacher/composer members of OhioMTA and the 150 years of MTNA.
The project consists of choosing ten composer/educators among a group of applicants who would send an original pedagogical composition for their instrument— Score and recording.
OhioMTA will then publish and print the Anthology of Ten Ohio Composers 2026 as a booklet, of which 150 copies will be distributed during the OhioMTA conference of 2026.
Our goal is to give the opportunity to ten selected composers known or unknown to publish their work as part of the celebration of MTNA’s 150 years.

Applicants must be members of OhioMTA.
FILL OUT AN APPLICATION ONLINE
Entries received between October 1, 2025 and February 1, 2026.
Score and recording should be included.
TIMELINE
Selection of ten composers by panel February 1-28, 2026.
Editing March 1-May 31, 2026.
Printing June 1, 2026.
Copies will be distributed during the OhioMTA conference 2026.
How does it work?
After you submit your composition, a panel made of five judges (two members of OhioMTA’s Executive Committee and three other OhioMTA members) will choose ten entries out of the received applications.
If needed, the selecting panel might ask composers to edit/revise their works for pedagogical reasons.
The ten selected composer will receive a commission payment of $200/per minute of music.
Participating composers will be asked to attend the state conference for the “premiere” of the anthology and their work. Each composer will perform their work or have someone else perform it for them.
